A Great Responsibility.

Have you ever been in a position of great responsibility; where your every thought, every judgement, every decision mattered and made a difference to a life? I was recently bestowed with such a responsibility. And it was quite a position to be in.

It was an overwhelming feeling. There was a feeling of power associated with it...the kind that corrupts. But you just have to keep reminding yourself...of your cause...your duties.

These are the times when your values... your good sense come in. You cant be biased by the world or fooled by the lies. You have not only to see the words....hear the words...but look for the deep meaning...the hidden meaning.
See through the people who are selfish and the people who are genuine.

I had to over see a few candidate interviews. I had to make the right choice...not the obvious choice...not the biased choice...the RIGHT choice.

I seemed that the choice was obvious...politically correct...patriotically correct...but I still had to decide by seeing all the other candidates and factors.

And just when you thought you saw the perfect candidate ...another, more, or equally promising, talented, gifted, competent candidate would walk in front of you and confuse you.

You just had to see what you liked and decide.

So after some careful listening, thinking, WATCHING...I cast my Miss World vote....
...and thus ended my duties.
*sigh* what a relief...I hope I made the right choice

Of Re-use and Abuse

I am a firm believer in recycling, reuse, waste management and to start with, I try not to waste. Especially when it comes to food, water and electricity. India has a scarcity of all of these and many people in other places go hungry, thirsty and without power for hours...which I have had to deal with when I was in Africa...man those were the painful days...no video games for 20 hours a week!!!

I also believe that things should be thrown away when absolutely no other choice exists. Like bottles and similar sort of containers.

For e.g. when I was a kid my parents would re-use bottles of vinegar and Gin to fill em up with water and then put it into the fridge so as to have cold water. But this led to some unwanted incidents of me gulping down VINEGAR instead of water after coming home from playing a couple of hours in the SUN!!! Painful.

(Might I add, that as you got older you tend made that mistake on purpose (oxymoron I know) with the Gin bottle :-) )

Today, I found a tin that was marked with "Nutrilite-- Protein supplement" and well I thought let's try this out. I made a milk shake of it and drank it all. It didn't dissolve completely and had a powdery feeling by the end of it.

Now, it struck me a moment later that i picked that tin up from off my sister's dressing table.
I really hope i haven't gone and drunk some make-up related powder kinda thing...I hope she comes home fast so I can ask her.....

Why can't people take off the labels or mark new labels on the reused containers???
Well just in case...it was nice knowing all of you...

Good bye cruel world...

What on Earth is going on?

Have you ever felt that that nothing in this world is going right; but rather everything in this world is going WRONG!
Read on....
*****************************************************************************************
Mishap number one:

Yesterday, I went to Pune University for my project work. There are 2 groups of three, from the same class who have to go there.
One of the groups of was not supposed to come. This group is headed by a person who we shall refer to as ViagRA (just to set things straight this name has been chosen randomly and has no direct bearing on the identity of the person, it is however a concoction of anagrams).
This guy, ViagRA, is kinda weird, funny even in the most silly way. for e.g. One day we told him "Dude you are so dumb we could make a reality show out of you by following you around with a Camera." He laughs and says..."Ha Ha Ha ...who you gonna get to act in it" !!!
Anyway coming back to the point...this guy fooled my group partners and me. Can you imagine that? We always play pranks on him ...and this time we got fooled.

*****************************************************************************************
Mishap number two:

I was shocked this morning to wake up and read the newspaper. The movie PAHELI was nominated for an Oscar.
I mean like WHAT THE FU**.
This movie was atrocious. I want those three hours of my life back, which I spent on that stupid movie. How could this happen. This is an abonibation.....admonitation...abnormation.....aboni...VERY BAD!!!!!!!.
How could this movie get selected and side wipe "BLACK". Black was brilliant. Brilliantly made, brilliant acting, brilliant direction. In a word BRILLIANT.
The only flaw which I have to say is that the movie's story was based on Helen Keller and not completely an original idea. All the same it should have been nominated.
Even 'Swades' was better than 'Paheli'. I want to know. Is the entire film industry FIXED? I sure think so since Shah Rukh Khan un-deservingly gets every best actor award...for the most mundane roles. Saif Ali Khan for 'Hum Tum'. Are we Indians THAT STUPID? NO! The freaking industry is FIXED I say.
Another theory I have is that those guys at the Oscars don't want India to win one (beats me why). So they pick the worst movie from all out entries.
*************************************************************************************************
Mishap number three:

Was just watching the news. Forbes has named ICICI bank as one of the 5 best Companies in India alongwith Wipro and Infosys.
ICICI!!!!!Those freaking THIEVES. Let me tell u one thing.
ICICI are THIEVES. They are completely INCOMPETENT. It takes them 3 months and 6 Phone calls to do a CHANGE of ADDRESS.
They charged me loan processing fees ....for a loan I didn't even apply for officially....only inquired about.
ONE QUESTION: WHAT THE F*** IS GOING ON????????**************************************************************************************************
MISHAP No. 4

Is the weather taking over the earth? It's topsy-turvy EVERYWHERE.
Almost every place in INDIA is flooding now or later. Switzerland is flooding! USA is being destroyed by hurricanes.
I think we have really pissed off the higher powers.
Now excuse me while I go to my Astrologer and do a Shanti Pooja.....for the world of course....

The new Wave of Crap--- Bajaj Wave

I opened my daily paper today and saw something astonishing.

That sham of a company, Bajaj Auto India Ltd, has come out with a new vehicle called the Bajaj Wave. It took me exactly 1.00005ms to figure out that it was the Saffire
with a new name... not even a new face, might I add.

Some people just never learn. They try to rob the public one way and then another.
This one had the same old look and also the letters "DTS-I" attached to it.

D on't
T hrow away your
S avings on me
-
I diot.

This vehicle is going to be another Saffire ... you can tell. No Kawasaki name attached.
Take the Saffire and put some new parts, a bigger engine...and you get this crappy
piece of engineering from those money laundering people.

I have a fair warning for all you people.

Bajaj isn't competent enough to make any sort of vehicle on their own...I learned that from the Saffire. This bike is going to be a FAILURE and a waste of your money.
If it gets the bike of the year award... you know how they got that award... the Saffire also got it, so you know the merit of that award.

Don't even bother test riding it, don't even look at it. See the Bajaj logo and run for the hills. I'm telling you, take the 35,000 and put it into your childrens education fund...do them a favour...fund teir education and feel like a good person!

Save your money and go for a Honda instead...in fact any other company vehicle instead.
Sleep peacefully at night....

You have been warned.
Thou shalt prove yourself smarter than other people by not buying this vehicle...

An out of control Killer: DUI- Driving Under Influence.

Whenever I see or hear of a case like this i just wonder, WHY?

Why would anyone be so stupid as to drive when they are drunk?
Why would anyone want to prove how irresponsible they are/can be?
Why would anyone want to damage property to such an extent?
Why would anyone want to go to jail?
Why would anyone want to KILL SOMEONE in this stupid manner?
Why would someone be this careless with THEIR OWN lives?

Just two days back I was woken up at 4:20am, from deep slumber with the telephone
ringing. It was the night security man calling from the main gate of our society asking for my dad. He called to say that some policemen along with four other people had come to our society seeking out the driver of a particular car.

This is what happened.

At around 1:40am this driver came home, the front of the car was smashed in at least
quarter of the hood in. He parked his car unlocked (he wasn't in his senses enough to lock his own car) and went home.

On his way home, on one particular street he drove into THREE parked cars and damaged
them quite a bit. The owners of the cars got up and saw the damage, went to the police station and filed a complaint, and then traced the owner to my society (how they traced him is a very good question, even I want to know, because they never got the plate numbers, and even if they did, it's not possible to trace vehicle owners in Pune through computers, since we don't have such a system. Also the license plates are not Pune plates???).

He then locked himself into his house, didn't open the door or answer the phone. The police came twice to get him and went back. (I think he wanted to stay in the house for a while because it becomes difficult to trace blood alcohol after a certain number of hours).

Meanwhile, the owners of the cars have huge damages incurred; one to fix their cars and secondly the loss of a working day since they woke up so early and also wanted to catch the bas**** who damaged their cars, the time and energy spent running to and from their houses to the police station (and we all know how helpful policemen can be sometimes) and to that idiot's house.

What happened afterwards, I don't know and may not get to know either, how and who he
compensated, other little details I would like to know.

This guy has also been known to come home late at night, drunk, and abuse and shout at the security guards for no reason.

Frankly, I want this guy to FRY. Sit behind bars for a few months till his life crumbles, so he can realise what the hell he has done.

You might think that all he has done is damaged a few cars and deserves better.
I think, what if that was someone walking, or sleeping on the footpaths, someone who he could have injured, or worse, KILLED.

What if that was ME, riding my bike back home.......

What if that was YOU?
